Planning Ahead (Stewardship year round)

Updated: Dec 30, 2020

On a rare evening without the kids, the farmer and I took a date to walk one of our fields, run a measuring wheel and plant marker flags. There must be a better way to spend an overcast winter's eve one must think, but for me it was rather enjoyable. You see we were planning for the future; not only for us, but for future generations.

Stewardship is one of our core values; taking care of ________ (fill in the blank). This may be the daily chores of caring for our livestock, caring for the people on our team, or our business finances. But this particular date was focused on the stewardship of our land.

We were planning ahead for further conservation practices we plan to implement that will help improve and protect our land for us and future generations.

We are humbled by the noble profession we undertake daily to farm, utilizing our God given resources to provide food for our community, our country and the world. The land that God has provided us with is the base of our business. We understand that by taking care of the soil, the microbes it possess, and the water that passes through it, it in turn will provide for us when it is time to plant our crop seeds and harvest the sun's energy.
