Simple Herb-Rubbed Boneless Ham

From the farm kitchen…

LT Farm Meats' fresh boneless hams are perfect for a flavorful, slow-baked meal to enjoy with family and friends. Each 5-pound ham yields about 20 servings, making it an excellent choice for gatherings. These hams are free of added ingredients, giving you full control over the seasoning. Wrapped and boneless, they're easy to slice once cooked. This recipe enhances the ham with the fresh aroma and taste of herbs, and the natural juices make for excellent basting or gravy.

Ingredients

  • Ham: 1 thawed LT Farm Meats boneless ham (approx. 5 lbs)

  • Herb Rub:

    • 1 bunch fresh parsley, finely chopped

    • 5–6 garlic cloves, minced

    • 1 ½ tsp salt

    • 1 ½ tsp black pepper

    • 1 ½ tsp red pepper flakes (adjust for heat preference)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ham:

    • Leave the netting on the thawed ham.

    • Combine the herb rub ingredients in a small bowl.

    • Massage the rub into the ham, ensuring it reaches all the crevices.

    • Place the ham in a large bowl, cover, and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

  2. Preheat the Oven:

    • Set your oven to 325°F (163°C).

  3. Cook the Ham:

    • Place the marinated ham in a large cast-iron dish with a lid, or in a roasting pan covered with aluminum foil.

    • Bake for about 40 minutes per pound (approximately 3 ½ hours for a 5-pound ham), until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

  4. Rest and Serve:

    • Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10–15 minutes.

    • Cut off the netting and carve the ham.

    • Baste slices with the natural juices from the bottom of the dish or pan. Optionally, use the juices to make a gravy.

  5. Enjoy this savory, herb-infused ham as the centerpiece of your meal!
